The company has its base in my fifteen years of museum experience - ten as Museum Educator. In that capacity, I developed a Native American games kit based on a state historical society workshop. The workshop instructor said that teachers loved the games. And he was right. Three kits traveled extensively to scout groups and elementary school classrooms. They were so successful that we incorporated them into many museum tours, scout days, and other events. For winter jamborees, we played on a snow covered track. In spring, we played outside on an "ice" track made of lengths of plastic sheeting. Indoors we slid snakes down hallways and across gym floors. Even the accuracy game version used at the museum because of space constraints was always a hit.
This success came together with my lifelong desire to start a business. When I retired in 2005, I formed and incorporated Snowsnake Racers, LLC in the state of Wisconsin with the intention of promoting and selling snowsnakes based on my experience with them as a valuable teaching tool for Native American culture. Making Snowsnake Derby Racers can be an immersion into Native American culture for your group. I believe you too will love this game and the lessons it teaches. Please let us know.
